Education
What We Do
At Methow Recycles we work closely with our local schools to promote a culture of waste awareness. Our staff and volunteers engage students of all ages through lessons and hands-on activities that focus on a variety of topics from recycling and plastic pollution to reuse and repair. Our education program is led by the Education and Outreach manager with direction and support from our volunteer-led education committee.
We offer in-class lessons, field trips, and hands-on activities to compliment various units of study. We also host an after school club for 3rd-6th grade at Methow Valley Elementary school called Green Team. The students of Green Team explore the world of waste prevention and resource conservation through field trips, activities, and action-oriented projects.
